SS2010:- We planned on opening the design process or as much of it as the community can handle… We discovered that we first had to introduce many of the new tools and technology and teach our base about them, as such we have launcehd http://My.28squared.com we will continue with teh design project but on a smaller sacale with less consumer participation!
Who what does your ideal customer need/want? Age and sex Income, education and lifestyle, spending habits, price threshold. How can you use new media tools and technology to discover, design for your consumer!
What Classic, fad or fashion? Staple item Utility item Gifts and accessories Furnishings or décor
Where are they ,Where do they shop, where are tehy going with these items
Why are they buying, need occassion, desire
Fit and sizing what exactly are their measurements teh best fir
Quality level, styling choices Price limits, Prestige value
When
Seasonal, Year round, Impulse, Social/religious/business benchmark occasion
How
will you reach them which Market, show, Consumer programs, direct sales, Consignment
Information for a business is powerful tool and small businesses need to get creative in collecting that info!
I’m seriously starting to ask myself whose job is it to introduce teh product to teh consumer!
Should that be “our job”?
When a building is built accessibility laws ensure that there is no discrimination!Multiple translations are posted to ensure that access is fair! What about technology, who is ensuring that access is fair and equal!
Case in point most of the technology that is being used has not penetrated across certain divides. Simply because developers choose to ignore certain markets. In an age where access can determine income. Designing specifically only for certain groups apart from being a poor business decision may actually be social irresponsibility!
On the other hand what about personal responsibility. Each of us makes a decision as to what to pursue and what is important! It is also in our interest to ensure we keep abreast!
